Elm Duo and Kanopy Dance collaboration: The Green Cousin — a “folk ballet”
On Sunday, October 2nd, from 5:30 to 6:30pm, Elm Duo and Kanopy Dance are premiering a new 45-minute “folk ballet,” The Green Cousin: A Folk Ballet about Coming to Our Senses.
The ballet tells the story of the Green Cousin, a recent immigrant to America who discovers it is not all she imagined it to be. But after she has to refuse service to a homeless man at the restaurant where she waits tables, the Green Cousin works together with him to organize a fairer, greener, and better-fed country that nourishes our sensory needs.
It’s all part of Wormfarm Institute’s bi-annual Farm/Art D-Tour, a 40-mile tour of visual and performance art with rural and environmental themes through the countryside in Sauk County, Wisconsin. The performance will be in one of the nicest venues in Wisconsin: The Freethinkers Hall, 309 Polk St. in Sauk City.
Tickets are free, but registration ahead of time is encouraged on Event Brite HERE, as seating is limited. The Event Brite registration site also a fuller description of the event.
